Aksa Fabric
Acoustic Sound Absorbing Fabrics
Produced for Decoration and Acoustic Insulation.
The acoustics of a room are one of the most important but often overlooked characteristics of its environment. Likewise, just as it is a fundamental consideration when designing a space – determining whether it should be maximized, minimized and avoided by reflective surfaces – equal attention should be given to sound.

Acoustic Fabric
Acoustically transparent, that is, sound permeable fabric, allows the sound to pass through it and is dampened through the acoustic panel, as seen in the picture.
Non-Acoustic Fabric
Non-acoustic fabric, that is, non-sound permeable, does not allow sound to pass through and be dampened through the acoustic panel, as seen in the picture.

What is acoustic fabric?
An acoustic fabric allows sound waves to pass through without any interference, reflection or absorption. They are actually acoustically transparent. Aksa Fabric acoustic fabrics of the highest transparency are used for speaker coverings as a result of their minimal impact on the transmitted sound.
To show to what extent a fabric has acoustic properties, it is tested according to ISO 10534 Part 2. This test measures the sound absorption of a fabric when applied to a 10 cm thick layer of sound-absorbing foam. The results are then compared to the absorption (sound absorption) of the foam used in the insulation, revealing how well the fabric will complement the performance of an acoustic panel. Data shows that sound easily passes through a transparent Aksa Fabric fabric and is absorbed by the foam or partially absorbed by the fabric before passing into the foam.

Where are Aksa Fabric Acoustic Fabrics Used?
As you can imagine, the materials used to create acoustic fabric are very important. Most acoustic fabrics are quite breathable and hold their shape well. They can be natural, such as cotton, or manufactured materials, such as polyester or nylon.
vFabric acoustic sound absorption fabric is used as fabric-covered wall panels, table dividers, acoustic screens, acoustic baffle pendant panels, canopy floating ceiling panels in areas where sound needs to be absorbed, by coating glass wool, rock wool, acoustic recycled polyester felt and acoustic sponges.
